Siemens, the leading global engineering and technology services company, has been active in the United Kingdom for over 170 years.
Siemens provide innovative solutions to help tackle the UK’s major challenges, across the key sectors of energy, industry, infrastructure & cities and healthcare. Siemens has a significant presence throughout the UK, with 13 manufacturing sites and more than 25 major offices.
Siemens required an internal communications tool to enable its marketing and corporate communications team to efficiently and effectively deliver messages to the right areas of their business at the right time. They wanted central and local control with the ability to use live TV and display data at various locations.
Working with Siemens for a number of years, Eclipse Digital Media have consulted with the Siemens HQ comms team on an ongoing basis to scope out nationwide digital signage network that could be segmented and targetted as required.
The Digital Signage solution provided was a ONELAN CMS hosted centrally with a nationwide network of subscribers. At various locations, HD encoders have been installed to stream Live TV across site locations.
The centralised ONELAN solution has currently been installed in 21 UK office locations including Manchester, Leeds, Hull, Congleton, Newcastle, Poole and the UK Head Office based in Frimley. This continues to grow in the UK.
A content strategy has been developed by Eclipse Digital with Siemens to put every display in the network to use in the most effective and appropriate way. This includes, various layout templates which have a combination of external and internal news alongside dynamic information and site specific access to update content. Some sites have also chosen to use 55″ interactive touch screens to deliver a wide range of information to their employees.
Eclipse Digital Media have developed bespoke KPI data graphs using ONELAN’s Data Collection Engine software allowing Siemens offices to display real time KPI data from internal systems to display critical information for employees and their key business objectives.

CAE is a global leader in modelling, simulation and training for civil aviation and defence. The company employs approximately 8,000 people in roughly 30 countries. CAE offers military, civil aviation and helicopter training services and trains approximately 100,000 crew members annually. In addition, the CAE Oxford Aviation Academy offers training to pilot cadets in 11 flight schools. The company applies operational and simulation experience to help their customers enhance safety, improve efficiency and solve many challenges they face. CAE’s business is very diverse, ranging from selling simulation products to providing end-to-end services such as training and aviation, integrated enterprise solutions, in-service support and crew sourcing.
CAE’s variety of locations were seeking a digital signage and AV supplier to provide various solutions to suit their needs.
For Digital Signage they required a solution that was easy to use, include the ability to schedule a variety of content including Live TV and show localised content per screen updated via various users.
For AV the various locations needed large scale monitors, touch monitors and speaker equipment to transform their pilot training classrooms.
Eclipse Digital Media installed various ONELAN media players some with integrated TV cards to deliver the digital signage content to the various screens and locations within CAE.
At Burgess Hill Eclipse Digital installed a 2 x 2 Video Wall solution, comprising of 4 x 46″ Samsung slim bezel LFDs and a ONELAN digital signage 6005-P Publisher for the waiting area of the flight training centre.
Throughout Brugess Hill and Crawley offices, Eclipse Digital have installed a variety of AV equipment including 75″ and 79″ monitors, Iiayama touch screens and presentation speaker systems to upgrade their pilor training rooms.
As CAE wanted to display the same information on both the Reception and Lounge screens initially, Eclipse Digital Media used Cat-5 Extenders to distribute the output signal from the publisher to the AV displays in both locations.
The content package compromises of an animated cloud background, live freeview TV feed, flight simulator status updates, live local weather, news and travel information plus world clocks for other key CAE locations.
The digital signage layout package includes zones that can be edited by the simulator engineer and receptionist, so they can update the relevant content instantly without having access to other areas of the digital signage system and layout. The layout and content package includes live traffic data displayed on Google Maps, live weather, time and date data as well as a central zone to display live TV.
The timeline for the project was tight so CAE challenged Eclipse Digital to provide a full end to end solution meeting all of their requirements within 8 days of initial meeting.
This project was completed within 5 working days from initial meeting through to installation. All design, development and installation for this project was carried out by Eclipse Digital Media.

From its relatively modest origins in the 1960s the company has evolved into a worldwide shipping company owning/operating a fleet of over 50 modern, dry cargo and multi-purpose vessels from offices in Cowes (UK), Zwijndrecht (Holland) and Bremen (Germany).
“We’ve been looking for a way to improve information flow within our Company as well as providing some introductory info for out visitors – Digital Signage seemed like a perfect fit. Our solution needed to be flexible and easy to managed – preferably cloud based, allowing centralized management of devices located in different geographical locations.” – Daniel Lewandowski, IT Manager, Carisbrooke Shipping
Eclipse Digital Media supplied a range of Samsung 48” Commercial SSP Displays installed across 3 Carisbrooke Shipping Offices (UK, Holland, Germany).

PayPoint is an international leader in payment technologies, its solutions transforming payments for everyone from consumer and financial services companies to retailers, utilities, media, e-commerce, gaming and government clients.
PayPoint delivers payments and services by taking the complexity of multi-channel payments and translating it into convenient, simple, value-added solutions. It handles over £14 billion from 760 million transactions annually for more than 6,000 clients and merchants.
As part of PayPoint’s commercial strategy, it exhibits at carefully selected exhibitions to raise awareness of the brand, the products and services it offers, meet with existing retail partners and gain new ones. In March 2014, PayPoint wanted to make a big impact at the National Convenience Show by launching its most impressive exhibition stand ever.
Eclipse Digital Media provided a 40” LED display, 10” Tablet, 21” Tablet and 46” Freestanding totem to deliver PayPoint’s exhibition content.
All the displays were connected to cloud based digital signage software, embed signage. Using embed signage, Eclipse Digital created digital signage layouts cycling through the various marketing material PayPoint required and scheduled the content to run specific items on specific days, depending on the event’s itinerary for that day.
There was no access to an internet connection at the exhibition; therefore, all content had to be run offline. To achieve this, the Digital Signage layouts were preconfigured and prescheduled to the displays. Once the content was configured, the devices would seamlessly play back the content and schedules from local storage.
